Update On My Adsense Project – The End

by Leo on April 29, 2010

This is an update on my first post about the Adsense project that I started about 4 months ago. It’s still 1 day and half till the end of April. My Adsense earning for this month so far was slightly over that of last month, which was just above $600.

I have, however, decided to end this project.

For the past 2 weeks I have been thinking about changing the model from building an army of mini sites to just a handful of authority sites. The reason is that I have become quite exhausted from maintaining huge number of sites and constantly looking for micro niches.

Also, several of my top earning sites dropped out of SERPs. They don’t appear to be the normal Google dance which usually last only a few days. This month they spent most of the days in Google sandbox. I suspected that Google reviewers must not like them, although these sites are actually the best batch out of all my mini sites.

They all have original, good quality articles but they all have only 5 or 6 pages and apparently it’s not enough in Google’s eyes. The problem with these sites is, they are so narrowly targeted that it’s hard to expand them.

I also have many 1-page sites that I am in the process of removing Adsense ads from. I have just heard in the past few days that several people’s MFA (Made For Adsense) sites were de-indexed overnight. The timing of this seem uncanny. It’s time for me to stop this mini-sites-to-Adsense model. I am not going to take any risk on my Adsense account.

From now on, Adsense only goes on authority sites. Period.
